Accusing the CBI of not providing full and satisfactory evidence, the party on Friday said it will approach the Central Administrative Tribunal to seek intervention by the Delhi High Court for commutation of death sentence of Maya Kodnani and Hardeep Singh. The party had earlier opposed the plea for commutation of sentence filed by the convicts in the case. Kodnani, former Karnataka home minister and chief of the Bajrang Dal, and four other accused - Singh, Dara Singh, Hukam Singh and Ajit Singh - were sentenced to life in prison on September 29. The high court had acquitted all the five on August 19. The conviction of the five sparked a wave of protests across the country, with the Congress, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and many other parties strongly objecting to the sentencing. The trials in the case were conducted in two phases, but were completed in a single day by the special CBI court on March 8, 2018. Kodnani was convicted under Sections 147, 148 and 149 of the IPC, for wrongful confinement of a woman, and under Section 120B for criminal conspiracy. Singh was convicted under Sections 120B and 201, and Singh was sentenced to five years in prison. Singh was also awarded a life term under Section 306 (abetment to suicide) and Section 201 (causing disappearance of evidence). Hukam Singh and Ajit Singh were each sentenced to six months' imprisonment under Sections 148 and 149 of the IPC. Hardeep Singh was found guilty under Section 365 (an attempt to commit a 01e38acffe Thesis Title : Thermal Engineering by Mahesh M. INTRODUCTION Thermal Engineering is all about transferring heat from one place to another. And thermal process always start from a system known as source and end at a system known as destination. The difference in temperature between these two end point is known as thermal load. It gives rise to heat and use of this heat for useful work is what is meant as heat transfer. It consists of three basic steps namely, heat transfer, transformation and disposal. Heat transfer represents the transfer of thermal energy from one medium to another, transformation is a process whereby the heat transfer is converted into other energy forms and finally, the excess energy is transformed into waste form. All these three basic steps are controlled by the temperature of the medium. If we raise the temperature of a medium from any value to any other value, the heat transferred to the medium from other sources is transformed into useful energy. The transformation temperature is also called as the conversion temperature. But to get heat from a medium to another medium the temperature of the medium has to be raised from its source temperature to the conversion temperature and then from the conversion temperature to the disposal temperature. But raising the temperature of a medium from the source temperature to the disposal temperature can be achieved only by a heat exchanger. Heat exchangers can be classified in three major categories namely, air, liquid and gas heat exchangers. 2
